(Date Posted:02/26/2009 16:00 PM)
Great idea! I'm not really sure what God is saying to me at this point, however I do feel a drawing closer to His throne. I have been listening to the scripture on cd at the office and home. When it isn't on I can tell a difference in the atmosphere. My God is big and I feel He is feeling me with His peace.Peace & Blessing,Susan

HAL WROTE - I had a couple of thoughts jump out at me in today's reading:1) John 5: 36-40; Jesus was the living word, yet in that day (as today) some folks, especially religious folks wouldn't believe in Him - even with all of the miracles and testimonies; His word/the scriptures still testify of Him and a promised relationship with Him. We can't approach the Bible like a rule book or law, but seek refuge, hope and relationship thru the Word-giver. He will make me a 'living' word too. 2) John 6: 8-9; I am always amazed by the miracle(s) of Jesus taking a little food and multiplying it to feed thousands. It makes me wonder - what is He wanting to do in the middle of "my little." In the current economy, I believe all of us have opportunities for the asking. Jesus, will you take this 'little' that I have, and make it into much - so that your kingdom can come on earth as it is in heav'n?

Luke 19:47
(Date Posted:02/27/2009 14:07 PM)
"Jesus teaching daily... (not once or twice a week) This is revelation to me today. I always say to people - if Jesus did it - I want to do it. If Jesus saw the need to teach daily in the temple - there must be a reason for that word "daily" being there. We,as the Body of Christ, are teaching at times when we don't even know we are teaching. But are we teaching something "daily" through our words or actions that leads others closer to the cross? Our "daily" lives are a textbook to many that are watching.

Acts 9 - 13 - Bible Reading for Monday, March 2
(Date Posted:03/02/2009 19:18 PM)
I love the story of the conversion of Saul. You can't hide when God says, "You're mine." You may run, but you can't hide. Also that God chose someone who had been so ungodly to turn the world upside down in such a short time. This lets the vilest sinner know there is nothing that you have done that can't be washed away when God's spirit dwells within and takes up residence. Aren't we glad today for God's forgiveness that washes away all of our sin? I needed forgiveness today - did you? Jeri

Hal writes: "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean." I wonder how many things I have sanctioned as 'unclean' when God is actually saying - 'I am OK with that, or I am OK with them - a person that doesn't particularly look clean or wholesome or kosher...' Yet, if God has said - they are forgiven! They are forgiven. Have mercy on me, Lord. I've still got a lot to learn.

RE:Bible readings
(Date Posted:03/11/2009 07:53 AM)
In Eph. 3:7, Paul says that he became a servant of the gospel by the gift of God’s grace given him through the working of God’s power.
By His grace, God gave Paul the gift of stewardship to preach the gospel of Christ to the Gentiles and to make plain to everyone the plan of the mystery (regarding the Gentiles and providing for the salvation of all men). God had revealed the mystery to Paul by revelation from Jesus Christ (Gal. 1:12). Bestowed on Paul by the working of God’s power, it was the work that God had prepared in advance for Paul to do (Eph. 2:10, Acts 9:15-16) and Paul did the work with reckless abandon to all else.
In I Cor. 15:10, Paul said that the grace was not given without effect. He worked harder than the other apostles, yet it was not Paul but the grace of God that was in him. Grace is unmerited and unearned favor. It is God meeting us at our point of need in the person of Jesus Christ, including all his power and provision.
Whether Paul was free, under arrest, or shipwrecked (Acts 21-28), he preached the gospel in word and action to whoever God placed around him. Paul’s circumstances did not deter him mission to do the good works that God had created him in Christ Jesus to do (Eph. 2:10).The circumstances simply gave Paul opportunity to fulfill God’s call.
God’s grace was not about Paul’s comfort and convenience. It was about God, by His grace, enabling Paul to do His will and fulfill God’s eternal purpose for Paul’s life. What satisfaction and joy that brings despite “circumstances”. Paul had learned to be content whatever his circumstances (Phi. 4:11-13).
Are there areas in our lives where we need to change our perspective? Is our focus about what we want God to do for us or what God wants to do in and through us? Blessings,Kathy P.

When Death Becomes Life 1 -3So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? I should hope not! If we've left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there? Or didn't you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace—a new life in a new land! 3 -5That's what baptism into the life of Jesus means. When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus. Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we're going in our new grace-sovereign country. 6 -11Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer at sin's every beck and call! What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ's sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Never again will death have the last word. When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us. From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That's what Jesus did. 12 -14That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don't give it the time of day. Don't even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you've been raised from the dead!—into God's way of doing things. Sin can't tell you how to live. After all, you're not living under that old tyranny any longer. You're living in the freedom of God. The words on this page are very encouraging to me. To know the depth of the love of Christ, that He would take my sin and wipe it clean. Not only once, but every time I ask forgiveness. He includes me in all of His discussions with the Father and sends Holy Spirit to comfort me. How great it is to know when I was baptized, dipped in the water my sins were washed away dead. I was baptized into His death, buried with Him and raised from the death of sin. I just don’t walk in it; nor do I? Christ carries me when I am no longer able to carry myself, His arms never give out, His eyes never close, His heart never changes toward me and I am the apple of His eye. So then how do I feel toward Him? Do I give Him all of my love first or does He come in last? Peace Susan
